If you’re passionate about public service and excited to learn, we’d love to hear from you. The District is accepting applications for a full-time Field Technician. This position is responsible for operating and maintaining the District's water and sewer systems to provide its customers with quality water and sewer service. The Field Technician works closely with and reports to the Superintendent. POSITION DUTIES Essential duties include operation of water treatment plant, valves, pumps, PRVs and hydrants; water/sewer system repair and maintenance; sewer manhole inspection and maintenance; meter reading; and more. This position requires working in all types of weather conditions and the ability to perform strenuous physical labor, including digging, climbing in/out of trenches and manholes and the ability to lift and carry up to 100 lbs. The Field Technician works closely with and reports to the Superintendent.
QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Qualifications
• At least 18 years of age at the time of employment.
• A United States Citizen or qualified to hold employment in the United States.
• High School Graduate or equivalent.
• Possess or obtain Water Distribution Manager 1 within 2 years.
• Possess or obtain Water Treatment Plant Operator 1 certification within 2 years.
• Possess or obtain Washington State Flagging and Traffic Control Card, First Aid and CPR Certification within 1 year.
• Possess or obtain WA Commercial Driver's License (Class B no code E restriction) within 2 years.
• Driving abstract must be acceptable to the District’s insurance carrier.
• Experience with operation of vehicles, heavy equipment, and machinery.
• Successfully pass District’s proficiency skill test.
• Proficient in English; able to read plans, specifications, maps and blueprints.
Desirable Qualifications
• Water Distribution Manager 2 certification.
• Water Treatment Plant Operator 1
